Do The National count as a post-punk band? If so, them.

U2 can count, first 3 were good, especially "War".

toss-up between PiL and Joy Division

though I never really bothered with Pil after their first four albums, except Album is quite good classic rock

It's between PIL, Wire, Joy Division, This Heat and Swell Maps for me, they are the holy five as far as I'm concerned. My favourite changes like the weather, for the last couple of months I'd probably go with This Heat.

There are a lot of ****ing post-punk bands, the most outstanding (in my opinion) is probably the pop group or wire.

Pil, Joy Division or the Cure. The Chameleons are good too.
