This is a tough decision, but probably my favorite is either Gang of Four or The Birthday Party (whom I didn't notice mentioned yet, and why not?) But I'm a big fan of this genre. The Bunnymen, Siouxsie & the Bs, Joy Division, The Cure, The Fall, I like it all.

my favorite now is probably the fall.
followed closely by joy division, the raincoats, and wire.

i think i would have to with The Fall....if anything due the amount of albums....i love Joy Division to death but the songs get old after a while....same goes with Alternative TV....but i think that Pssyche by Killing Joke is the greatest "Post-punk" song ever written....esp. the live version on HA! and Laugh? I Nearly Bought On!

speaking of Joy Division....i just reasd about THIS....by any chance did anybody see any of these shows?

the Bunnymen,The Cure,Siouxsie and the Banshee's. Been listening to the Au Pairs, pretty good not sure how they passed me by until a couple of years ago
