The Pixies vs Nirvana

I actually think the majority of Nirvana's output is really good pop music, pop music that is simply played out with a lot of distortion and angst. Generally they adhered to a simple Verse-chorus structure, utilised hooks effectively and created memorable yet basic melodies. It was presented in the 'alternative' format, sure, but at the base of it all was a very sophisticated pop sensibility. Pixies for me just had a bit more divergence away from convention, which for me makes the music that bit more interesting.

And all i have to end with is YOU LUCKY BAST*RD.
