Is this a riddle or something?

I don't know punk genres are hard to define. So much ambiguity. Sound punk to me from what I see.

I think the original point was that Nirvana and Pixies were more punk in their ethos than the likes of Green Day. Of course, I could have misinterpreted this, but it's what I personally think anyway.

I mean from what I've read didn't Rancid stay on an indie label their entire career? They're half of Operation Ivy for heaven's sake.

And Green Day was very much the punk ethos at the beginning of their career and its why they got so much grassroots attention. I'm not talking about the American Idiot Green Day here...

well, Rancid's album "Indestructable" was distributed by Warner.

I would have to say The Pixies. Their sound was way more innovative and original. And they were more prolific and versatile during their short career and the sound from each record is seemingly different. Whereas if you took a track from In Utero and put it on Nevermind it really wouldn't make a noticeable difference. I'm not trying to be pedantic though, its a subjective decision and i like both bands. It just seems like Nirvana gets too much credit these days.

Try cleaning the wax out of your ears, it might help your hearing.

Yeah, cause "Polly" and "Tourettes" sound exactly alike when played side by side.

No, but Polly and Dumb sound very much alike. So does Territorial Pissings and Tourettes. Yes i agree Nevermind is very polished and glossy but sometimes i just get the feeling that In Utero is Nevermind recorded live with less production. My statement might have been a bit far fetched though, In Utero does have a darker feel too it.
