I can't keep up with all these sub-genres. What falls under Noise punk? Butthole Surfers? Joy Division? Dinosaur Jr?

Honestly I don't know what Noise Punk is specifically but as for noise rock music (which I guess is probably pretty close) I would say Big Black, Scratch Acid (arguably) and I guess Lightning Bolt but that's kind of a category all its own.

I like Lightning Bolt as well, but I think Flipper best represents noise punk in all of its glory.
Vocals come in at about 1:17

Flipper is probably one of the best examples of noise punk. If we're going to get all -core on it, The Locust would be my favorite "noisecore" band, but I'd just call them hardcore.

I like Fiasco. A lot. Anyone heard?

I got a Melt-Banana album recently and dug it a lot. Will have to listen again.
