Yea, I understand, but Sid Vicious was iconic. Influentially even, because of his image. I'm not sure of any other that matched such as a sole character of punk.

Every other way he sucked though. The message may have been "we can suck technically and still be music." But he even sucked at sucking.

But that's not the point I was making. The point was image was everything as far as punk was concerned back then and Sid Vicious was the perfect example of that. When I was school he was the most famous punk around and he'd already been dead for a couple of years.

I haven't really stopped to listen to Public Image Limited, to be honest I couldn't even name one of their songs so it's Sex pistols for me!!!

I only like PIL's "Second Edition" and "Flowers of Romance". There was a live one recorded in France. I have that on vinyl which is good. As for the Pistols, I only liked "Never Mind" so I guess I go for PIL.
