I was about 17 when Kerplunk came out and I never knew one person who didn't consider them a bad joke even at the time. I'm actually happy for them that they are/have always been able to support themselves by making music but their music has always been bad.

There's no need for the frown. If you like a band, more power to you. You shouldn't feel bad for liking something. The point of this thread isn't to point and laugh at people who like Green Day, but rather to better define what Punk is and why or why not certain bands fit into that definition.
