Yea, it came out a year ago, but they are one of my favorite bands so I want to make a thread about them.
Sink or Swim is the best punk album since Reinventing Axl Rose. That's really all I have to say. Oh, and they have a new album coming out. It's actually already leaked if your a downloader. |

I don't know if I'd call them punk but thats just me. Its what punk is falling back from the Sex Pistols, through the Atari's, toward Social D, Dropkick Murphys, Ted Leo and it comes back to sped up Springsteen.
just my 2 cents.

You got your money's worth when the E Street Band put on three hours worth of great music for 25 dollars at most. And Bruce, and Tom Petty are the two I hear in GA. They are actually pretty unique. And, not one bit punk. |

To those of us on the outside of punk looking in, this sounds redundant.

American Slang seems intriguing. Something 'The Boss' would be proud of.

Old thread is old. Regardless, I simply adore the Gaslight Anthem. I heard Great Expectations through a friend who's always introduced me to great music, and I fell in love. Brian Fallon's voice is just so soothing, and there's something so nostalgic about their lyrics, and the sound they create. I especially love their (i.e. Brian Fallon's) covers.. covered 9 Crimes, Last Kiss, Antonia Jane, Atlantic City, etc. I'm really excited to hear their new record, which is slated to come out early 2012.
This is (I believe) the only finished track off the new album: It shall be so worth it. Has anyone heard of Brian's side venture, the Horrible Crowes? I'm really looking forward to hearing more from them too. |
