Forgive me for judging music based on talent and sounds, next time I'll look at superficial factors like image and lifestyle.
Ha. Rotten went on to form a seminal post-punk band, Vicious became a murderer. Says a lot about what they had to contribute.

Kudos to Sid for doing himself in though, the worthless twat.

never said that Johnny Rotten was non talent, and by no means was superficial about it...I agree that Sid was bad at what he was expected to do, but he was still and icon none the less.

I never said that Rotten had no talent either, I was just talking about Sid, and was by no means bing superficial, I was referring to his amazing preformance, which he delivered all the time and was a true advocate of anarchy....true that Sid was not all that he was expected to be, but what did they want him to be? That is not what he was about...Sex POistols Rule, and I am glad that they have survived....

Hardly any of my friends listen to the Pistols. I take it American Anglophiles are a minority but US culture dominates us. I was walking down the King's Road only today, where UK punk all started - you have your Starbucks, McDonalds... it ain't all tea and scones y'know?

Arrow Sid,,,,

Sid was one of the best at being exactly what he was paid to be more in one year for than any of you could imagine ..a nutcase vile disgusting vulgar iconic indelgiable master,,,tru sid may not have been thee most talented but.he could play at least 3 chords.and if that is also the case,,,,the "king" of rock n roll Elvis only knew about that many chords on a guitar as well.being a guitar player i can personally state that 99.999% of punk music is what 3 F`ing chords ...lol....beyond that why dont u try playing when u have a B***H like nancy hounding you and gettin you into exactly what u didnt need..if we all only had half the courage to do things we want to that sid did maybe this world could be a more open and honest place.and yes..punk is A STATE OF MIND NOT A GD SONG OR LYRIC...its a lifestyle and he lived it to the fullest..thats what makes him what he was..if only others had that courage they might have better things to do than just put him down..
