well, since you are just starting to get into the music, ill give you some not so extreme yet still awsome bands to get into.
at the drive in, thursday, coheed and cambria, sparta, the mars volta, dead kennedys, thrice, refused, the (international) noise conspiracy, boy sets fire, the used, and you will know us by the trail of dead, muse, blood brothers(they may be a bit too hardcore), taking back sunday and less than jake-for some good old ska music. a lot of people would say **** like finch and dashboard etc etc. im not a fan of these kinds of bands personally, but you should probably check them out as a lot of people do listen to them

The Casualties are fashion punks if I ever saw some. What punk rock was supposed to be dies as soon as th Ramones "broke" up. Punk was a movement that took a provocative name (punk meaning peon and other very graphic definitions) and said f*ck you too the system. They got in trouble for just playing what they did. No band is "punk" unless they aren't allowed to play almost anywhere. Lets use that as the standard shall we and erase alot of these misbeggoten ideas of what punk rock is.
And David, Ashanti is punk as f*ck plus lets all try to stay on topic
