All the bands at Warped Tour are either metalcore/post-hardcore or electronica. The end.

That makes more sense. What I don't understand is how come so many companies take part in bludgeoning the tour-goers with so much incessant advertising. Basically, what has happened with Warped Tour is a bunch of companies found a way to make a lot of money off basically purchasing a share of the Warped Tour, and selling their image to kids, all in the name of "punk rock." Its the same thing that Mtv and myspace have done, they purchased a supposed alternative and subversive form of media, and now completely own every aspect of it, completely undermining the message that was there in the first place. The problem is, is that kids these days are too dumb to realize they just bought into a gigantic corporation's moneymaking scheme, and somehow think that this is still "punk."

It seems like this forum has some people who know a bit about the punk genre. This thread is not an example of that.
Hey, don't diss the free condoms.
Also, in no way at all is that music "punk" or do I think it is, I just go to have some fun.

Listen to this:

It sounds like an angry slightly sped-up Good Charlotte/Simple Plan with crappy political lyrics.

Because they look like Motley Crue and their music sounds very 80's hair metallish, even if they do throw in their little hottopiccore thing.
Punk is dead.

It's dead.

We can't go back to old Punk.

So "new" Punk now sounds like that.

It's something I hate to admit, but am willing to acknowledge.

Why is Anti Flag the face of new punk? Because they wear mohawks and sing about the government? And why does punk have to sound just one way?

Punk rock can include everything from Hot Water Music to Everytime I Die to Teenage Bottlerocket. All of these bands are very different from Anti Flag.

There are plenty of bands still making "punk" music with DIY ideals and ethics. None of these bands will ever be on Warped Tour.

I was gonna mention that, but then she'd probably argue...

That's bull****,and if you had to say that comment then you're obviously not listening hard enough. The new punk does sound different but it is not the crap on The Vans Warped Tour. The bands that have resorted to The Vans Warped Tour are just a bunch of poseur bitches.

Oh no, I'm not saying they're the face at all.

Don't get me wrong.

I'm just saying that we can't go back to the way it was.

We have to accept it as it is, I suppose.

Obviously you didn't look into the comment hard enough.
