I kinda disagree. In a haze of insanity I took hip hop classes with one of my friends and it gave me the ability to distinguish between hip hop sons

intresting but please note i like some rap but i liscen to punk for the most part and im not saying that better than half of all the punk bands ive ever heard sound different fromone another, no most sound the same

I checked out Aus-Rotten when I wanted to check out crust punk, they're supremely cool. last.fm isn't such a bad thing for this kind of inquiry either.

Yes it is. There are endless numbers of genres. You could go and make up a genre now if you wanted too. I wouldn't suggest it, but you could do it.
