Default Siren Song of The Counter Culture

Has anyone bought this album by Rise Against? i think Rise Against may be going down the drain. they've gotten less faster and less harder. i just found out that it was on a major label. i hope they dont become one of those papa roach kind of bands. do you think that they should release more albums on Fat or Geffen (the major label)? But this album is still good. i'm just saying i think they could've done better. #2 and #3 (The First Drop and Life Less Frightening) sounds like bad religions new stuff a bit except the vocals which sounds good. and Give it All is great. what do you think about this album?

Default You guys are tits

When was the last time you popped an album into your CD Player and it blew you the **** away starting from the very beginning of track 1?

"Siren Song of The Counter Culture" is a fantastic CD. I have all of their other albums (and most comps), because I've always liked Rise Against BUT it wasn't til RPM that they found themselves as a band. Everything before RPM was lackluster, and "Rise Above" must be one of those boobs who thinks every band was more hardcore before they got really good and signed on with a decent label (whether it be FAT, GEFFEN, or SONY).

"Six Ways Til Sunday" was their best track before "RPM" and "Siren Song" were released, and compared to their newer stuff, it was not really that great of a song at all.

I just don't get how anyone could say their newer stuff is worse.

So "Swing Life Away" is on the album. For an acoustic track, which I'm not a big fan of, it's pretty solid. EVERY other track is ****ing hardcore and involves a ****load of screaming and face-breaking guitar.

Their new CD is ****ing awesome! And I'd say it's pretty damn hard, unless,of course, you are comparing them to death metal or something.

New cd is terrible. I was a huge fan had The Unraveling and RPM and have seen about 6-7 times. The SSOTCC came out. Disgusting. I don't mind if a band is political like they are. In songs like Blood Red White And Blue it was fine, but they are so overtly political now its terrible. They've changed their sound too much, sold out to the left wing America haters, and pretty much rely on overhashed punk now.

Swing Life Away and Dancing For Rain aren't too bad though.

My Life Inside Your Heart still is their best song though followed closely by Torches

Stained Glass and Marble is their heaviest song. Hands down
