Default If you had the chance...

If someone offered you the chance to become the next GC would you take it.

First off I posted it in the punk forum on purpose jesus so dont get mad and be like 'well that should be in the almost pop-punk/mainstream/post-emo indie forum'.

Second. I would be a 'sell-out' and consider myself punk and lose all pride in everything for the money they are making off of these little kids.

The Maryland-bred rockers’ recent release, “The Chronicles of Life and Death,” has sold just shy of 200,000 copies since hitting stores October 5. Their sophomore album, “The Young and The Hopeless,” has sold more than 5 million copies worldwide. They’ve toured the world over, and most of them are proud homeowners. MSNBC.com

5 million copies? Thats alot of effing money...anyone watch MTV cribs? They got huge houses too.

Shooooot, if someone offered me the "lifestyle of the rich and famous" id take that **** in a heartbeat. I dont care what kind of sacrifices id make and how many friends I'd lose.

Your real friends would be your friend no matter what. Money should be irrelevent between friends.

I'd take the money, the lifestyle, the security for my future family, the lack of financial worries for the rest of my life, sure I would.

I would never be the next GC. i rather be in band that had talent and made little money than be in a band that plays crap music and makes alot of money. Money isn't everything.

meh, its hard for me to answer that question, cause I would never want that kind of lifestyle. for one, they do have a pretty busy schedule, and that'd take up way too much time that I'm not willing to give up, and two, I honestly would hate being famous, I really enjoy my privacy, and being that exposed to the public would drive me nuts.

haha...yesterday my friend and I were talking about Good Charlotte cause she likes them and she said something about them 'not being that rich' and i was like...'crystal shut up.'

if i had that kind of money knowing me i'd do something stupid like...buy the casualties...no..i dunno. i could understand if you needed money wanting that much of it, but still. it just seems impossible that someone can have it as easy as all the rich people in the world who basically get money handed to them.

so, it's between the dignity of your profession versus money. i would like to believe there is a way to maintain both; good profit in the music industry doesn't only apply to pop/ hip hop artists. sometimes creativity and good live performances are enough to put someone over the edge- then in order to keep mainstream status, you have to come out with music the people want to hear, not what you want to hear. i wonder if that is taught in business school.

Some people need the security of lots of money in their life. I for one feel that less is more, in the sense that when i've had nothing i am enriched more by life's small pleasures.
