Best front man
yeah, yeah, another "best" thread....
For this one who is in your opinion the best singer/guitarist/songwriter past or present and why? |
i dont know about best, but here are some good ones that come to mind
henry rollins, jello biafra, joey ramone, sid viscious, tim armstrong... maybe tim shouldnt be mentioned with the rest, considering brody is gaining ground on him lately |
I agree about Jello being one of the best, Id also have to mention GG Allin for his stage antics, and **** from Subhumans for still rocking after all these years.

Who is the best punk front man? I don't have a clue, so I'm afraid I'm bumping this thread without a comment of my own really. Sorry, Exo. |
I don't know either, to be honest. Maybe John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten. Maybe Joe Strummer. If Midnight Oil is considered a punk band, I'd go with Peter Garrett
|
mark e smith you dummies
|
joey ramone you dunces

Rotten and Jello making babies is the best.
|
I retract my statement. I'm going Ian Watkins from Lostprophets.

Lux Interior or GG Allin easily.
|
|
Nah regardless of the music he's a top tier front man.
Genesis kills on this and I'll never stop sharing it |
Reaper was actually me before I could figure out my old email password. I don't like GG that much but as a frontman he's literally a more extreme Darby crash. Idk what more you could want.

I credit bob.
|
You choose to credit bob?
|
Actually, I have to credit Elastic Man for that particular vid.

You weren't here in 2010.
|
That's true. I've come a long way.

*takes the credit and walks into the sunset with a flaming rag in Chris' gas tank*
|
No need to front, man.

Wayne Coyne is a joy to see live. He's definitely a hippie but I couldn't help but smile at his namby-pamby crap about loving eachother during their Cleveland show. Does that make me weak? A commie? Both?

Over 150 million albums sold. 11th best selling artist of all time. A few decent singles????? Keep Yourself Alive Seven Seas of Rye Killer Queen Now I'm Here Bohemian Rhapsody You're my Best Friend Somebody to Love Tie Your Mother Down We Are the Champions Fat Bottomed Girls We Will Rock You Don't Stop me Now Crazy Little Thing Called Love Another One Bites the Dust Flash Under Pressure Radio Ga Ga I Want to Break Free Hammer to Fall A Kind of Magic One Vision Friends will be Friends Who Wants to Live Forever Innuendo The Show Must Go On Just some of the rock artists that have cited Queen as a major influence: Judas Priest Iron Maiden Metallica Megadeath Faith no More The Melvins Rage Against the Machine Slipknot Van Halen The Cult Kid Rock Nirvana Radiohead Trent Reznor Red Hot Chili Peppers Jane's Addiction The Flaming Lips Smashing Pumpkins My Chemical Romance Panic at the Disco Marylin Manson Over the years I've seen upwards of a hundred arena/stadium shows and Queen in 1977 is easily in my top 3. Freddie's also the best rock vocalist I've ever seen live. Saying Queen was/is overrated is simply dumb. Plus they peaked both commercially and successfully for many years and over a decade before Freddie's death. |
Nobody is listening to Fat Bottomed Girls or indeed most of what you listed in 2018 come off it Chula.
|
I loved them when I was younger but they don't hold up so well these days. The whole silly, operatic, showtunes take on rock is too gimmicky.
