Stick around.
Be open to learn.

Oh, well in that case, I don't really like that much punk. I do however take liking to The Stooges (they're sort of proto-punk though), The Saints, The Cynics. I'd like to get into more progressive-like punk music.

Who should I look into first?

FireInCairo 11-03-2008 09:01 PM

Im not entirely sure but go with joy division or gang of four first
get:
Joy division - unknown pleasures
Gang of four - entertainment!

and then

The fall - hex induction hour
Wire - Chairs missing

Thanks for the thought.

Give me a month or so to fully digest it and I'll let you know if it does anything for me.

Me and Punk music will never hit it off. I just have a visceral "yuck" reaction which I can't overcome. Thanks for the effort though.

The idiocracy of this, coupled with the way it's written, is sigworthy.

On the topic of post-punk, I find Echo & The Bunnymen to be one of the more accessible bands. I'm very rusty with post-punk, though.
