whats wrong with you people?
im straightedge and its just a way of life. if i choose not to do drugs and get waisted, then how exactly does it effect any of you? the fact that its cool to do drugs these days is ****ing ridiculous, so excuse me for doing my part to keep some kids eyes clear and mind intact. i ,mean, take one look at this world and the violence and problems in it. now imagine if drugs or alcohol were never around. there would be a huge difference in the success of the world and the people in it. so if youre going to still hate on us xers then i honestly dont know what kind of crazy **** youre smoking but **** you.

OK so you have the abstaining drink & drugs sorted.
Now maybe it's time to work on your people skills & grammar.

it's not up to you to decide what's right for anyone else but yourself. When you force your beliefs about drugs and alcohol on others, then you're no better than those who propagate the idea that drugs are popular. Live your own life and leave people the **** alone, then maybe you'll get some respect.

the ideas of hardcore/straight-edge kids are fine - everyone has their own ideals that they stick to, and thats fine. as far as the music goes, some of it is really cool - i like how many artists of the genre use the lyrics to tell their stories and what they stand for. not a huge fan of "tough-guy" hardcore however... but anyways, it's when kids feel like they are BETTER because they are straight-edge that it becomes annoying. and its just like any other personal belief - if you push your ideas close-mindedly on someone else, you come off as an a**h***. not to mention, the preaching that goes on is unbearable. when i go to a show, i want to hear MUSIC, not a sermon about how stupid i am for drinking beers with my friends. but hey, to each his own.

Of course it's forcing your lifestyle on other people, trying to change them when that's impossible because you can't change anyone but yourself, but don't both sides do that? In fact, don't most groups in general do that... especially teenage ones. Also it doesn't matter at all because in the end it's all bullshit anyway. |

Ah yes, the one genre of music that actually requires it's fanbase to be a bunch of self righteous, raging douchebags
