Here's my selection of catchy pop songs of the punk era

The Ghosts of the American Astronauts- the Mekons
Holidays in the Sun- by the Sex Pistols
Christine- Siouxie and the Banshees
Warriors in Woolworth's- X-Ray Spex
Get Over You- The Undertones
Stay Free- The Clash
Because You're Frightened- Magazine
Are Everything- The Buzzcocks
Adult Books- X
Rockaway Beach- Ramones
Retro Rockets- The Stranglers
Nobody's Hero- Stiff Little Fingers
Academy Fight Song- Mission of Burma
Love Will Tear Us Apart- Joy Division
Not Great Men- Gang of Four
Born To Lose- Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers
2-4-6-8 Motorway- The Tom Robinson Band
Roadrunner- The Modern Lovers
California Uber Alles- The Dead Kennedys
Trash- The New York Dolls
Totally Wired- The Fall
No More Fiction- Essential Logic
Sunday Girl- Blondie
Baby Let's Twist- The Dictators
Flame Thrower Love- Dead Boys
Spooky- Lydia Lunch
Wurlitzer Jukebox- The Young Marble Giants

I could think of any songs by Black Flag or Flipper that sounded remotely like pop music.

I have a confession to make. I've grown to like Green Day over the past decade because my niece and nephew (who are now in their 20s) made it their project to get me to like Green Day. As it turns out, Billie Joe Armstrong has produced a formidable body catchy punk influenced songs over the years. I hope this confession doesn't get me referred to a 12 step program for recovering teeny bopper punk addicts.

Little hardcore, but it's damn near pretty catchy. Also pretty funny.
