I love this 1979 vinyl 7" of Stand Up & Spit by The Members. The Members along with the Clash were the earliest punk bands that had a dub/reggae influence. The lyrics have a hilarious punk attitude toward nearly everything, including the girl next door with a brand new hairdo.

Another favorite of mine is Alternative Ulster by Stiff Little Fingers, the underrated Belfast punk band. I saw Stiff Little Fingers live in London in late 1979 and I thought they were every bit as good a live band as the Clash.

Viva La Revolution is pretty catchy.

From the hardcore end of the spectrum... I nominate Pay to *** by the Bad Brains and Suburban Home by the Descendents.

If it wasn't for Suburban Home and my older brother's copy of London Calling, I never would've gotten into punk.
