And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.

I disagree. I understand what you mean but you obviosly dont listen to music the way that I do. Yes, Davey's voice is more mature but he always wrote well. There are a lot of songs that he's just joking around on but I can find a lot of songs with just as much meaning as his new songs. The new music is piss poor in my opinion. They might as well call it Davey and the gang because the new just focuses on the vocals and the music is bleh. Old music is awesome and unless you give the albums spins in the double or triple didgets you cant understand what davey is saying. ...that damn mohawk song kicks ass. That whole album kicks ass. Fuck yea resevoir dogs.

btw thank you moses a lot.

I also disagree with AFI having matured, yeah davey has matured as a vocalist as have the rest of the band as musicians. What do you expect over a span of time? As a band have they matured? Nope, they hoped on the generic scene rock aka "emo" bandwagon and are now playing boring music. I like it, but it sure as hell aint anything amazing or better then what they use to it.

Alright im not going to read all the way through this malarky. I think this band is pretty good but Admittedly, I've only heard the new single Miss Murder and Sing the Sorrow.

I hear a ton of crap about Black Sails in the Sunset, especially after buying that new single and had the album reviewers say "This is not AFI and if you like it you probably like Blin-182 too. AFI is dead"

That makes me want to stab your repeatedly in the eye sockets. Im willing to try something but I was wondering if you guys could suggest something from the past that i might like.

On a side note, I tried looking for an AFI thread and the search function won't let you find it. Thank God this was on the first page.

get answer that and stay fashionable, very proud of ya, shut your mouth and open your eyes, and black sails in the sunset from moses, in my opinion those are the best albums. All Hallows EP and the Art of Drowning are listenable but don't even compare. And Sing the Sorrow is just plain shit.
Black Sails isnt a great album but it is a good album even though Jade pretty much noobed it up.
