Looking for a Song/Band From Before '89
Not a really thrashy Punk, definitely closer to Alt than to Skate punk.
I had it copied on a tape with no track listing Female lead singer Starts with a simple bass line. This is what I remember from the lyrics: "Living at home in a place where nothing changes No one bothers to smile On a beach with no swimming allowed No sex, no drugs, no violent crowds. Every place is the same, every place is the same Every place is the same, there is no escape And we dream to ourselves how its all gonna be if we every get out and be on our own and just be left alone Livin at home with repression and mind control with the thought police Don't speak unless spoken to go wash your face and clean your room" Other tracks on the tape (I suppose to establish a time frame) They might be giants - Ana Ng Billy Bragg - Help save the youth of america Pere Ubu - Non-alignment Pact Sonic Youth - Teenage Riot Last edited by I Mojo Jojo; 04-24-2008 at 11:50 PM. |

Found it! This is Living At Home from The Obituaries. The version was looking for isn't the sample I found online. It appears the one I'm looking for is a live version. Anyway, persistence pays off. Now I just need to find the live version and also find that damn Godzilla cover.
