I don't like the ramones or the clash. What really grinds my gears is when people assume i HAVE to like the classic punk bands because they were so influential. **** you, no i don't. They're both boring.

I don't have as much exposure to the Ramones as I should, but comparing each band's respective magnum opus (London Calling and the Ramones' s/t album), the Clash win by a mile. I can get into some Ramones songs, but most sound formulaic and become a little dull after repeated listens.

i like how people who say they dont know too much about it are arguing how good/creative/diverse they are and who's better..

Say what you like about The Sex Pistols but they were pretty ****ing influential. Anyways, i have London Calling, whcih is excellent and i have nothing by The Ramones. So i guess The Clash win.

I like both bands but The Ramones were much more important to me when I really started getting into music.

Just get out. The Ramones you've got a point, but The Clash are in no way boring. I have ADD and I don't think London Calling is in any way a boring album. Maybe you're just too extreme for great punk.

It's kind of hard to choose between either band. The Ramones were American punk and The Clash British.

Ramones are better though!

The Clash .. there is no doubt in my mind.

By the way, like'em or not - you can't say the sex pistols were not influential. Or - if you do, then you're flaunting a lack of knowledge about the whole punk movement.
