The Ramones were sort of a one trick pony. Sure they' played good punk, but I can only listen to about 3 or 4 songs before I feel like I know what's coming next and get bored. The Clash on the other hand flawlessly blended so many different genres that I can listen to them all day and not get bored. Not to mention Joe Strummer's work with the Mescaleros as well.
