They weren't typical "rock stars" you uneducated twat. They sold Sandinista! (three pieces of vinyl) at a single LP price, so their fans could afford it. They oversold Bond's Casino, and double booked so everyone would see them play. Rudi Peni is OKAY but they could never reach the level of the Clash, or be nearly as ****ing relevant, and I'm sure that get's on Blinko's nads. As for the Ramones, idgaf.

I would definitley say the Clash, I love the Ramones, but the Clash just did so much more with music. So I voted Clash.

So a discography consisting of endless regurgitation>one based on constant change and innovation? It's Oasis vs. Blur all over again.

Punk should make a statement. Clash used what they had to get messages across. Ramones never did that...unless sniffing glue was a message.

Can't compare the two in my mind.

Why should punk make a statement?

Otherwise you end up with mindless crap with no backbone. Don't get me wrong I'm guilty of listening to it. It's more of a general statement.

It's kinda what defines you as punk IMO. Something has too. I mean what some people consider punk now is unreal. It's how punk started and should be honored.

And no ..I don't think Ramones started it.

I though it was based on doing what you and only you felt like?
"Punk Rock means freedom" etc?
