I like both bands but The Ramones were much more important to me when I really started getting into music.

It's kind of hard to choose between either band. The Ramones were American punk and The Clash British.

Ramones are better though!

The Clash .. there is no doubt in my mind.

By the way, like'em or not - you can't say the sex pistols were not influential. Or - if you do, then you're flaunting a lack of knowledge about the whole punk movement.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... I'm not saying that the Sex Pistols were not influential. I made this post over a year ago and at the time I was just being an ass because I hated the Sex Pistols and sweet_nothing loved them.

I'm going to edit that comment out to avoid further confusion.

I always think of The Sex Pistols as more of a big, over the top rock'n roll beast than a punk band, like Guns And Roses or summit.

Two of my all time favorite bands. But this is pretty easy for me. The Ramones. Great energy. Great hooks. One of the 5 most influential bands of all time!

Are we really comparing Guns and Roses to The Sex Pistols?

I am, 2 very polished hard rock bands with a bad-boy stylized image.
