I have a bit of a thing for Sandinista! and the crazy stuff they try but if I have to sit down and listen from beginning to end...it's London Calling. There really isn't a way around it.

Sandinista! is what really makes them in my eyes, though.

Cheers to the folks who pick Sandanista!

It is very easy to pick London Calling, which is often picked in "Best of" lists, but Sandanista, to me at least, helped define and separate The Clash from their peers. Besides, how many 3 disc records does anyone have in their vinyl collection?

Combat Rock is so ****ing underrated, definitely my second favourite album. Sean Flynn is truly the soundtrack to my mental happy place. That and Ghetto Defendent but you can't go wrong with Ginsberg in general, he used to be my lullaby when I'd be too wound up to sleep.

Well I'm privy to Super Black Market Clash for the dub mixes by Mickey Dread, most notably for Justice Tonight, but he also worked with them on Sandinista, which not only has One more Dub, but my favourite Clash song of all time "One More Time" as well as other great songs like the Call Up and Magnificent Seven.

It is a shame that Joe Strummer died so young. Personally I think he was a better spokesman for his generation than John Lydon, RIP Joe.
