Question, sensible answers please
I need your opinions for my Special Subject research, im a music b.tech student incase you needed to know.
Question: Are Mcfly a humilliation to guitars and the "rock image", or are they a stepping stone to alternative music? - a little explination for you, basically are Mcfly an insult to guitars and the rock image they've got going, or are they a stepping stone to any alternative music like (dont go off on one if you dissagree with this) Blink182 are, people listen to bands like Blink, Greenday, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte ect. which gets them into heavier music. i need actual answers not a load of rubbish, so answer truethfully! Thanks Sabrina |

Mcfly are OK. They are rock and roll, unlike Busted who think they are but are really a load of crap. Mcfly are not like this and show us that there is a rock and roll band for 12 year old girls after all...

Never heard either of them and from the sound of it I don't want to, however to answer your question: 2 years ago, I hated hardcore music and all things that included heavy guitars and screaming. Then I heard the my first relativly "heavy" band: From Autumn To Ashes. Now I know alot of people here don't like them but I do. Anyway, I started to listen to stuff like them and gradually became inclined to try some heavier stuff. Then about a year ago I got the self-titled Between The Buried And Me cd. I was in love. they are so rediculously heavy and technical it blew my mind. I now love hardcore and all its bastard children off-shoot genres.
Summing that whole speech up, softer and poppier music has its place in the world because it starts alot of people on the path to listening to Rock in all its wonderful versions.
