Black Flag are great, but I really dislike Rollins. I love the anecdote that Ginn gave him LSD because it would make him "not be as much of an asshole."

Greg Ginn was 100x more of an a'sshole than Rollins ever was.

Fair enough, everyone has pet peeves, but the way I see it Rollins was just a realist. He was surrounded by *******s, though

meh i can't remember. i do know that he ostracized certain other members of the band, he was overly controlling, he fell out with everyone including Rollins and his brother Raymond, he became a pothead who signed any old band to SST records and ruined the label.

as i said i don't remember details but Ginn was a moron, or at least turned into one in the late 80s. That's just my opinion from what I've read about him, obviously I've never met him and I still regard him very highly. A lot of Black Flag fans blame Rollins for the demise of the band and for the change in their sound, but it was primarily the fault of Ginn. I say "fault", but I love post-Damaged 'Flag records, almost all of them anyway. And the band did probably end at the right time, although it woulda been interesting to see where they woulda went.

I can upload some Gone for you if you gimme some time.

If any of you black Flag fans want a good read, buy "Get in the Van - On the road with black flag" by Rollins it is a great read, even for people who are not fans of the band.

I saw Rollins do his "Black Flag Show" with the rollins band a few years ago and it was really really good. The dude from Rollins Band on guitar did a 10/10 job of playing Ginns guitar parts. Before the show I thought it was going to be quite good, I walked out totally blown away, Henry was a machine.

Black Flag is the best hardcore punk band from the 80's. Either them or The Dead Kennedy's
