....and that answers the question. People call them sellouts because they are cashing in on the punk name and image when in reality they are not a punks bumhole. /end thread |

They're hardcore anarchists, aren't they d00d?
I mean, with spikey hair and lyrics like "don't wanna be youuuuuu", that is so against the system. I'm gonna go spraypaint their name along with other bands like Sum 41 and Hedley that are punx on a downtown wall because that's how anti-establishment I am. Oi!

I agree with a large majority of the people here... those two bands sell on their "punk" personas.
I admit, though, that I used to like Fall Out Boy. I bought their first two CDs and everything. But now I think back and want to slap myself :/ Their music isn't too awful or anything, though. I never did like Good Charlotte... I think the biggest problem is that they are "mainstream" and when a band makes it to that point, they get big headed and sometimes their talent begins to decline. And their old fans start to dislike them because suddenly everyone knows who they are and therefore they aren't "cool" anymore... admit it... >_> |

Not Fall Out Boy :/
No one knew who they were until that "We're going down, down blah blah blah" CD came out... (They had another CD before that. That no one has really heard of. Meaning, not always mainstream...) But they still suck. |

Wow. This thread reminds me of something that happened to me a while ago.
My sister asked me to tell her about a few bands that she would enjoy, and she doesn't have terrible taste (she listens to stuff like 3 Doors Down, Foo Fighters and Radiohead). I obliged, giving her a list of a few bands worth noting but nothing too obscure. About a week later, I found the list of bands that I gave her scrawled on by her friend. My list was crossed out, and there was a new list in its place. There were bands there like Fall Out Boy, Sum 41, and Good Charlotte in their place. And right them was the label that made me cry: GOOD BANDS. I can't believe how universally swallowed this **** is. These bands are nothing but an enema.
