Default Songs being turned into screamo/metal/hardcore songs

I was just talking to a friend the other day about this. What does everyone think about these song being redone. Isnt it funny how bands take a song that everyone knows and completely redoes it to a completely opposite sound of what it originally was.

yeah like killswitch engages rendition of Dio's "Holy Diver". Love both the songs. but Killswitch's version gives you that extra kick in the nuts.

Yeah, redone covers are pretty cool. I made a playlist of the best Punk ones:

Rise Against- "Anyway You want it"
Strung Out "Bark at the Moon"
Ignite "Sunday Bloody Sunday"
Avail "Pink Houses"
Good Riddance "I.S.Y.L."
Goldfinger "99 Red Balloons"
Pennywise "Stand By Me"

And of course, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, who turn old songs into Skate Punk.

^ im with you. although they go a bit overboard. i still love the original. but its so much fun dancing to the screamo version. even at dances its like damn its screamo but you still see everyone doing the dance anyway. its funny.

i love the Bullet For My Valentine version of Crazy Train. Its so amazing!

I actually agree with this post. I really enjoyed their version of the classic tune. Probably the only time Howard didn't **** something up with his singing.

Killswitch Engage could easily make any song sound good. the vocals are amazing, im not being completely racist here but for someone of his age and for being of the african-american persuasion, he's got one of the most amazing voices i have heard in a metal band.
i hope they are around longer than anyone because i will never grow tired of the vocals.
