I need some Skinny Puppy. I have some promos directed by Jim Van Bebber on a DVD but that's it.

Was listening to this album before.
Phew is basically a Japanese solo artist by the name of Hiromi Moritani.

If you want to know what her music sounds like basically imagine Siouxsie Sioux doing an impression of Bjork while Can play in the background. In fact Holger Czukay & Jaki Liebezeit were members of her band at one time.
A couple of the tracks almost sound a bit like Radiohead's Kid A era , which isn't bad to say this came out 19 years earlier.

I don't know that much more about her. This is her self tited debut from 1981 , I know she released 3 more albums (1987 , 1992 & 1995) But i've not heard anything since.

How do you find these bands Urban? Do you scavenge blindly and kidnap random indie artists and keep them in a matress-walled basement until they talk like I do? Or do you have some secret turtle-powers of deduction that we are not aware of?

Thank you for this. Never heard of her before, but I've just listened to it and it's exactly the kind of music I like. Very unique.

Since this thread is about dark music from post-punk period or generally from the 80's, here's some that's not mentioned.

Tuxedomoon - Half Mute (1980)

Minimal Compact - Deadly Weapons (1984)

MX-80 Sound - I've started a thread on them in Avantgarde/Experimental forum, but with no response (maybe I should have done it in this forum?) Anyway, here it is once again - 'Why Are We Here' from Crowd Control (1981)

Sunn O))) is a pretty damn dark drone metal band.
Now here's something you have full permission to laugh at me for, but From First To Last actually has some extremely rage-enducing songs in Heroine.

So the search for music of these genres began in 2007, now it is 2009, are you still there? Try out The Chameleons, Comsat Angels for post punk, Ride, The Summerlad and perhaps mogwai for noise, Distorted Pony is a good choice, Alien Sex Fiend and Red Lorry Yellow Lorry of youlike the goff stuff... I'll think of more for yous later... Yowza!!

P.S. Godflesh is essential if you like Swans... trust me...
