well maybe in the history of music that statement is off but "Of course writing some of the most poignant political and emotional lyrics in modern music might be hard"

I'm saying Against Me! has ****ing great lyrics. Well, not really on the last two cds, but certainly the old **** is good.
EDIT: and I'm 100% serious about the "in the history of music" part. I can't think of any band whose lyrics move me as much as early Against Me!. And I listen to a ton of emo.

I don't think I could relate as much to music from past generations. Even if they were in a similar situation it just wouldn't be the same.

Against Me!
Just listened to the new album today (New Wave)...is it me or does the lead singer sound alarmingly like the guy from Cake on a few of those tracks...have they replaced the lead singer or something?
