"In the history of music" completley voided that statement. I'd barely call it good. Atleast that aspect of it. This coming from a HUGE fan.

well maybe in the history of music that statement is off but "Of course writing some of the most poignant political and emotional lyrics in modern music might be hard"

I'm saying Against Me! has ****ing great lyrics. Well, not really on the last two cds, but certainly the old **** is good.

EDIT: and I'm 100% serious about the "in the history of music" part. I can't think of any band whose lyrics move me as much as early Against Me!. And I listen to a ton of emo.

I don't think I could relate as much to music from past generations. Even if they were in a similar situation it just wouldn't be the same.

Just listened to the new album today (New Wave)...is it me or does the lead singer sound alarmingly like the guy from Cake on a few of those tracks...have they replaced the lead singer or something?

no. this band is another band that is awful now. its really too bad, because CRIME and their other earlier stuff were extremely great, if not motivating.

I feel the same way...its just not the same...
