Favourite Clash track?
O.K It's not a poll, due to the sheer number of Clash tracks, but I know there may be a few gems I'm missing. So what is your fave Clash track? Mine is STRAIGHT TO HELL from COMBAT ROCK. It seems so effortless from them and one of their most languorous tracks; in a good way! HATEFUL is a close second. I love the lyrics too. They suggest to me a drug dealer that brings good and bad to the Clash set-up.
Your's? |
Police & Thieves, Janie Jones, Spanish Bombs, Death or Glory, I'm So Bored With the USA have all been my favorites at some point or another. At this point it's probably Rudie Can't Fail.

I tend to like the more reggae driven stuff they did , so stuff like Armagideon Time , Ghetto Defendant & Guns Of Brixton I play a lot.
They did a show mostly based on that kind of stuff at the Jamaica Music Festival in 1982 , easily my favourite Clash bootleg. |
Probably English Civil War.
Best example of his fractured vocals. Apart from that I can't think of any other reason why that track entered my head first. Spanish Bombs was another. |
I've always liked their stuff like Train Vain and Lost in the Supermarket best. So one of those two probably.
|
London Calling. I think it's their definitive song.

Obvious, but White Man In Hammersmith Palais. Those backing vocals still give me shivers.
