I didn't know this existed until recently reading this thread. I think it may be my favorite song ever my god is it good I can listen to over and over and ovvvveerrrr. I don't know why this was only on the american version of their debut.

Because it was released as a single a year after the album had come out in the UK.

The Clash's debut album didn't come out in the US until 1979.

For me "Lost in the Supermarket" seems to connect with what I'm going through right now, and just always felt like this song really defined the band. I think they knew what direction they wanted to go, but did they finally get there?
