i was introduced to real punk when i was 12 or so i was actually a fan of good charlotte but i saw one of the member wearing like a DK shirt so i got into them even though GC wasnt punk themselves they introduced me to alot of good bands because their own personal tastes are better than the music they make

Mine was at a local concert several years ago when a local punk band called Hollywood Hand Grenade played. They have since changed their style to Hardcore but they probably the first good Punk band that I heard.

A blue haired mohawked boy in the summer of 8th grade. He was (and still is for that matter) the drummer in punk band and I was visiting him up in Jersey and went to his band practice, which at the time was them sitting around smoking pot (I was still anti-drugs at the point) and listening to punk music blaring. Anyhow I was all like this **** is sweet and spent the rest of the week just chilling in the guitarists garage listing to punk, getting drunk, and ****ing around, but then had to go back home to my conservative school were practically no one likes good punk and it was sad.

Good Charlotte's new single "the river" is a rip off Alkaline trio and Good riddance. i will admit, when it was put on in the store, i kinda liked the intro, but once the vocals cut in i still kinda liked it, but the lyrics killed it for me. the store manager proceeded to put on two more of their crappy songs. the chorus of one of which was "get your hands off my girl" with some kind of rapping about brand name clothing in between. worst song i've ever heard.

Mine, the Spanish punk rock band La Polla Records, The Ramones, and The Clash.. like most people I went from there to a more HC sound.
