The Drummer from the Used now playing for rancid

Jesus just told me so.

Thoughts? Personally, I don't care too much seeing as Indestructible was terrible and their new stuff will also be terrible.

Brandon is a good drummer though.

Drummers for bands like Rancid and The Used...dont have to be good...so it makes no difference at all.

swim 01-20-2007 06:25 AM

mmm

I don't like either

eh

Raine 01-20-2007 10:34 PM

when did this happen?

I don't have any problems with it so long as the drummer doesn't write the lyrics or anything like that.

It happened about five years ago which is why i'm posting it just now.

I don't see why people think the drummer will do any damage, Rancid had a dude from good charlotte and Kelly Osbourne in their video, and Indestructible was garbage.

When the new album drops and it sucks everyone will pin it on the drummer. Its going to be weak, Brandon is a good drummer and Rancid have always sucked aside from a few songs and those are still your typical punk songs.

Strummer521 01-20-2007 11:04 PM

Listening to Rancid is like listening to the Clash watered down. Why not just stick to the real deal and not worry about what Rancid does?

PerFeCTioNThrUSileNCe 01-21-2007 12:32 AM

Honestly, I agree that it wont make much of a difference because Rancid would still suck even if Pat McGrath was playing for them. I stopped listening to them when I realized that there was more to aspire to than power chords.

gottaSCREM 01-21-2007 11:37 AM

Does this mean the used are through or is it just the drummers little side project?

littleknowitall 01-21-2007 11:56 AM

I'd hardly call Rancid a side project to the used, :S

skindredluver 01-21-2007 12:03 PM

i dont really like either to.there not that good.

gottaSCREM 01-21-2007 12:06 PM

The Used aren't bad they have their moments.

skindredluver 01-21-2007 12:14 PM

Well i have to agree with you there i guess so i take back my last statement.

The Unfan 01-21-2007 12:55 PM

Yeah, even if I do enjoy earlier Rancid albums I can't see them releasing anything good in the future.

littleknowitall 01-21-2007 02:05 PM

Aye, ruby soho was alright along with a couple of other songs but no prospects for the future of rancid.

sleepy jack 01-21-2007 02:32 PM

Just so every one knows...the Used fired their drummer...

*really didn't think he'd have to say that*

gottaSCREM 01-21-2007 05:01 PM

I like The Used - A Box Of Sharp Objects that was good the other songs were ok some were catchy others missed the mark completely.

tdoc210 01-21-2007 05:49 PM

i liked.. that one with the song nihlism on it

indestructible is crap
the used is ..well... pop with guys with emo cuts

Nope, the drummer just left the band, really pissed off the lead singer dude as well.

Meh, Rancid sucks as is, I doubt the new dude is going to be pulling out some crazy stuff like 7/8 blast beats, so it won't matter at all.

Ghostbuster3000 01-27-2007 04:08 PM

I went to see them at birmingham the other month, they wasnt bad. The drummer was nothing more than average though. Still, not bad...
