My list is baisically written on the premis of giving credit to some of the originators, and most influencial artisits in punk. Not all bands are "punk" per se, but pioneers and influences for the music.

In no particular order
The Clash
The Sex Pistols
The Ramones
Sham 69
The Germs
Black Flag
Bad Brains
Social Distortion
The Velevt Underground
The Stooges
