you know, i should have known better to pose such a question in this forum. you're all a bunch of kids thinking you know everything about the scene after the fact. i mean, sure i was playing with my band with the likes of neil perry and you and i, but you all have the retrospectives of all the songs they ever played when i have the original 7"s. i can't bring up a question of where the scene is going when the respondents are people who are just getting here. sorry guys, but don't tell me what the scene was like and where it's going.

Well, since you put it that way you're opinion is so much more valid and you're better than. Sorry.

it sounds like you already found the anser to the question you were looking for judging by this post.
And it would seem as though what you were really looking for was some one (here) to back up what you already thought about punk.

And since you seem to know so much more than us kids, I too wonder why you would ask this question in this forum.
But then again it's not like you could educate half the members here so . . . . . good luck nourishing your precieved misonceptions and delusions.
I hope it takes you real far in life (sarcasm)

So you've paid your dues and stood your ground
Much longer than most have been around
You think they all owe you respect and should praise your superior intellect.
I'm sick of all the token lines, "Stupid kid has no mind"
"He's only 14 he has no clue"
"He won't stick around cause he's way too new"
So you've paid your dues but what for?
Sticking around to uphold the score
Maybe you'll give them a chance to "succeed"
maybe you'll talk to them and do a "good" deed.
"She's just here to pick up guys"
"I saw his parents drop him off tonight"
"I've never seen them at a show before - I wonder what they came here for?"
Your arrogance is out of control
You think you'll decide who can stay and who'll go
Who can join the club is up to you
After all you've paid your dues - after all
But until they too have paid their dues
until they' re no longer children, and they're no longer new
until they all agree with your views....
Nobody owes you!

And raine quit trying to pretend like you know what you're talking about. You're the one who could barely get your information about Hot Cross straight.

ive avoided this thread like the plague ever since it started for 2 main reason.

1. every scene in every city is different..
2. the scene changes over the years..what are you asking, the difference between the scene in the late 70s early 80 and now? or the difference when one got into the scene and now? sorry if this has been answered, like i said, i didnt read anything up untill this last page..ill go back and check and give you my opinion on how the scene i know has changed since ive been involved with it..which is roughly 11 or 12 years.

when i first posted the quote i thought she mentioned two other bands. it's obvious she didn't and i rescend my previous statement in regards to that.
I already addressed this.
