i think people really believe that fighting on a forum is really really cool and makes them appear to us, the lame asses, as rebels.

a "rebel" on a forum- Oh, you f*ckers, i like Green Day only because you don't like'em!! Am i cool or what?

another "rebel", on the same forum - Yeah, dude, you're like.. SO COOL!! ok, here's the deal, i'm gonna say i don't like Green Day, and we're gonna fight about it, k?

the first "rebel" :-This is like... the funniest thing i've ever heard.. let's do it, no one will notice....

:usehead: see what i mean??

Why do people never use that arguement when you slag off the likes of Jessica Simpson or Avril Lavigne.

Why is it when you say you don`t like a rock band that sells a lot you`re 'elitist' yet if you criticise a big selling pop artist it`s perfectly OK.

Double standards I think.

I don't really appreciate that kind of mentality. It's odd how people will disregard an entire genre of music, especially pop, considering pop is a very generic and loosely defined genre. Most of the bands mentioned in this rock forum incorporate pop into their music, and are just as "pop" as some of the bubblegum artists everyone supposedly despises. They play the same venues, have same managers, make the same kinda money, played on the same media outlets, receive the same exposure, and mostly play to the same audiences. And all of them are payed excessively, when compared to bands that actually are out there, with the same or more amount of talent, playing sh*tty gigs just to get a meal.

ok sorry ill refine what i was trying to say...

i think the majority of people in here dont like artists who get rich and famous without any hard work. they don't write their own songs and theyre slingshotted into stardom. for me, i think most of those artists come from pop but i can see that im judging the genre unfairly based on personal bias.
