I suggest you check out Vivienne Westwoods early creations, she had a lot to do with the punk fahsion movement, didn't she?
But yeah I thought punk was about music, not clothing. |
Have you seen the Westwood T-shirt design that spawned the name Sex Pistols?

I think I might have, but I'm not sure.
The reason she came to mind was her involvement with The Sex Pistols and her famous shop. |
70's punk dress was a lot to do with being yourself. They had safety pins in there clothes not cos it looks cool but cos they were poor as **** and couldnt afford new clothes so they held them together with pins.
Today poeple tend to wear stuff that fits into a stereo type of punk clothing. The point of being yourself is lost and has been taken over by the want to look trendy and cool. "The moment punks adopted a uniform image they ruined it for themselves. The whole thing was about being yourself." Johnny Rotten (not exact wording but you get the point) |
Oh that is such a good quote, whether it was the right wording or not :p:
Like I said, it's about the music, isn't it? |
