how has punk music changed (rock, musical genre, The Ramones, sex pistols)

after really looking into it punk has not changed much. its still an attitude and music. some of it has gone for the worse like clothing and comercializing(sp?) it. I still feel punk is dead because most of the bands that are very popular suck and most of the bands that are un signed are unpopular are great.
