Sum 41
ok, who all likes Sum 41? So far all three of their albums have kicked large amounts of arse.
(waits for AFireInsideDeath to insult my musical tastes) |
i'm not really a fan, but the stuff i have heard is great and i would buy their album if i wasn't skint.
whats skint?
but anyways. yea sum41 definitaly ownz. and i hope they come out with the a new cd soon because their last one was sweet and so i bet the new one will b even better. they have been getting better cd by cd. if u have kazaa or limewire download the Hell Song music video. its sweet |
I'd have to say I'm a fan. They're from the town beside me so I was into them when the put out Half Hour Of Power. I liked All Killer No Filler and I still listen to it pretty regularly, but i wasn't too impressed with Does This Look Infested? They're were 2 or 3 songs that I liked. The Hell Song video is good though. So overall yah I agree with you.
****ing suck. i hate them.
meh, they're ok, just not my taste. hearing like one song everyone few months or so is fine, but to me all their songs just start to sound the same, and i just think they really have all that much originality.
They are kinda poppy but I don't mind them. I bout Does This Look Infected and I wasn't dissapointed. Definitly worth the money. And the bonus DVD is awesome. They are some funny dudes
A little too poppy and got up in the mtv era of music.
mtv "rebellious" pop rock is not punk
sum41=suck |
scale 1-10...3
Look, Sum-41 is the demented, crappy love-child of The Beastie Boys and Blink-182, without being nearly as good as either one. If you didn't understand that, let me explain: Sum-41 sucks.
^ what a positive post. I mean every once in a while you come across someone just bashing a band for no reason, and giving no explanation whatsoever as to how they came to that conclusion, but its a good thing you explained yourself in such an intelligent and insightful way.
(sarcasm meter from 1-10: 17) |
I dont like em anymore casue the aint real punk listen to bands lilke anti-flag and the casualties and a global threat the unseen whatever
www.thecasualties.net www.aglobalthreat.net www.unseenpunks.com sorry i dont know the site for anti-flag |
Well , I think they rock. who gives a damn if they arnt punk or not I certanly dont. So there new video I saw last night and I really liked it. Except they cut out alot of the 80's hair band sene.
Meh...
They're not THAT great. Their style isn't really my thing anymore.
I personaly dont like them much. They're a little too pop-ish. They have some ok vids though

dude its www.anti-flag.com but anyway...they have never really claimed to be punk, and their new album amazing. I like it awhole lot and I listen to hardcore I guess you just have to like it. They sound like metal with punkish tendancies than anything now. |
yeh sum 41 r hella good...n who cares if they're pop punk that just means that theyre r a popular punk band...just cos theyre not as punk as nofx.....SUM41=good
*TK bashes her medula obligata in with a sledge hammer rendering her ability to control her limbs just to not smack Mr. Everett's head in* No! No! No!!
Now before you see this and say something really pointless and stupid about what I said of Sum41 realize now that what I say is not a fact but is solely based only on opinion: As I said before in some other topic thingy concerning the band Simple Plan-- All Pop Punk music is a sick unhuman abomination spawned forth from the same delicious primordial soup that made Punk Music-- the thought that bands like The Misfits, The Clash, Rancid, and the Sex Pistols--would be thrown together with Sum41, Blink182, and Avril Lavigne in the same hodge podge mixing bowl, is a bloody recipe for disaster!! Associating the two is crude and degrading to the Merry land of Punk... I can honestly admit that I loathe these bands--Sum41, and Blink182, just as well as their music--(if thats what you call it) and their obnoxious pre-teen skater punk fans. |
not as punk as nofx? yeah, i guess nofx is the pinnacle of the punk movement...

I think that their day is over. I loved Fat Lip, Motivation, In Too Deep, that sort of stuff, but now they've gone all heavy metal/indie rubbish. It doesn't suit them. Bring back the Canadian Oiks!!!
I think they're OK, i used to think they were great but now they've lost their spark. I agree with Han, they're starting to sound too much like busted
i think sum41 are moderately ok in small doses
not my forte'
Some of Sum 41's music is pretty cool.... its not quite punk....but who cares about lableing what type of Rock it is? I could care less
Their new CD owns. Bow before them in all their glory.
their new stuff is better than the old stuff.
Sure do!
I love sum 41. Not too impressed with Half Hour of Power... drumming really bad. Only like daves possed hair, crazy amanda bunkface and makes no difference.
All Killer No Filler... some really great songs. Especially heart attack. Love it. Does this looked infected?.... one of those cds i just cant stop playing because its so amazing. I fell in love with EVERY song on that cd. Excellent! And as for my brand spankin new chuck cd... pretty impressed so far. But i have noted that there sound to be big influences from Mettalica, Oasis and System Of aDown. Anyone else notice this??? |
