The thing about the Fall is the way they suck you in.
I first heard them around 1992 & hated them. Then around the time Witch Trials was being remastered i listened to it & picked up on it.So I bought all the reissues as they came out & probably only liked 3 or 4 songs from each one. But once you listen to those songs you go back & you hear something that you like about another & then another & another. When I bought that Peel session box set a couple of years ago I probably only liked about one discs worth of material on it , now I can listen to all 6 discs without skipping a single song.

I very rarely mention The Fall on these forums, because like with Northern Soul...I don't expect others to "get it".
Both (on a personal level) reside outside of what is considered 'popular music'...but for very different reasons. |
