This is my pick for the best Fall tune of the '90s - represents the band's ethos very well.
The band always had interesting b-sides too - even in the '90s. This one in particular sounds quite unlike the majority of the rest of their work, partly due to the absence of MES in the track. |

It takes some work to get your ears used to it but British regional dialects is where the true beauty and creativity of English is at, for me. You got working class blokes speaking in ditties and rhymes, coming up with crazy puns and parodies on the spot etc. What Jakobson calls "the poetic function" is hyper active with them.
MES is an amazing wordsmith but it's a cultural thing too |
