"You're obviously too young to remember the good old days before MTV (there's a delete button for a reason, use it if you make a typo) came along and destroyed the whole industry." now, sentence structure is a whole other lesson, but maybe we should take it in baby steps.

Rolling Stone and the media did exploit punk, which is why we have pop punk today...They praised punk for being a alternative to corperate rock, but they helped turn punk into just that, corperate rock, the mainstream carnation of punk as we know it today (aka pop punk) embodys everything that punk originaly stood against in the first place.

In my opion,
1. Punk music died the moment it started to get recornised. It got raped to death and its deseased corpse is still being raped 2. For the bit that said something about how everything has been made mainstream, well thats one of the points behind punk that this wasnt supposed to happen, but yet the mainstream industry got its hands on it (thats how it died, see my first statement) 3. Punk is about the music, the additude AND the clothing 4. Pop punk is a condradiction, it wouldnt really have anything to do with being called punk, more just punk influenced rock I think thats about it P.S. I love the irony that, the people from the start were saying how punk was dead and then comes along a guy called Alexisonfire, and he argues that its not dead and stuff. But isnt Alex Is On Fire a punk influenced rock/Screamo band?
