And kashmir, we know that cobain absolutely despised being labeled as grunge, the rest of the world defines their music by the term "grunge", and they just don't fit in to the rest of the world's definition of punk. And I can't believe I'm about to do this, but i'm going to compare it to simple plan (*shudders at mention of that band*). No matter how many times they insist that they are a punk band, it doesnt change the fact that they're just another boy-band and always will be.
