Your perfectly right there most people i know who were into punk listen to blink 182 and good charlotte thought they were punk then started looking for more punk bands and they stumble upon the ramones and DK and such.

From that aspect its pefectly logical why the bands are there they're the gateway drug to punk and alot of people still consider them pop punk and probaly the person that made this video does.

But you gotta listen to Suicidal Tendencies or Black Flag

Anyone watch the movie Repo man? Its old and it has all the punk classics.

I still stand by my original argument. And what are you talking about Nirvana aren't Punk? I'm going to go all fanboy here and say that you can shut up, because Nirvana did so much for Punk and they are still the best Punk band to have ever lived. You Punk fans just hate to see a band become popular by the mainstream, and when it does you disown them and then start talking about how you hate them. Immature.

Nirvana didn't do jack for punk. Dead Kennedys, Ramones, and The New York Dolls did a lot for punk. Quit trying to sound like a know-it-all and accept the fact that you are wrong. Nirvana was grunge, is grunge, and will always be grunge. And most of the time when a band goes mainstream they lose their selves in the hype created for them. SOAD is a prime example. So is Green Day. You are wrong end of story.

Nirvana opened up Punk to so many more people, and made Punk loved by a new era of people, like The Pixies did also. I'm not trying to sound like a know it all. I just hate when Punk fans start b*tching about Nirvana. Sure, you may not like them, but the fact is-they sure put Punk back on the map. And when you say they are Grunge-Kurt Cobain hated the term Grunge. In fact, he thought Grunge sucked. People kept on interviewing him and asking him how he felt to be labelled as Grunge, and he would flip out and talk about how they are Punk. In my eyes, they will never be Punk. And some kids on the internet will never change that.
