I love the sex pistols and the ramones both, but it pisse's me off when people judge all punk music based on these 2 bands alone, for example when people say all punk sounds the same, that punk bands are all unoriginal and rip off either the pistols or the ramones and that it requires no talent or skill at all, which is far from the truth, punk may be based on certain principles that almost every punk band shares, but it can still be a more deverse genre than people give it credit for, for some punk bands who have their own unique style and that sound nothing like any other punk band, i would recomend Television and The Minutemen, 2 of my favorite punk bands.

Hate to be off topic but why on earth would you put a thread about punk bands in the rock and metal forums when clearly two forums above there is a PUNK forum?

I prefer the Ramones.

I agree with Mr. boo boo on how punk can be a diverse genre. There can be so many sounds to punk, it just depends on what you like or listen to. And yeah...it's pretty stupid how all punk music is based on solely a few bands in which everyone's heard. I think if you're gonna say something bad (or anything at all) about 'punk' music, you better have done your research and be able to prove your point.

Anyone sell a cassette player?

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.
