Stone Roses I am the resurection, she bangs the drums, waterfall, happy mondays step on, sowing the seeds of love, tears for fears, fatboy slim praise you etc. Then the US with "venus in furs, positively 4th street, masters of war etc. I totally agree. I couldn't decide between Pistols and Ramones. Noone can. it is not possible. Scientists have yet to find a method to acurately decide between the Pistols and the Ramones. |

Never saw either band live (which is probably where their real strengths are). I'm judging them by the merit of their albums and other records, and Never Mind The Bollocks really seals it for me. I guess I still like The Ramones, albeit I think they're still a tad overrated.

The Sex Pistols are great because they failed and gloriously imploded. Their last performance in San Francisco is enough to make them legends. Famous last words from Johnny Rotten, you guys probably know them, at the end of the song No Fun, he says "Ever get the feeling you're being cheated?" and then the concert ends.

That performance is shown on The Filth and The Fury, it's pretty painful to watch to be honest.
I suppose it's good though, compare that to some bands and that's going out with a bang, they still had that first album as their main claim and what an album it is. To leave it there is brilliant (i don't count all the latest reunions by the way). |

I have that performance it's at Winterland in 1978, it's not that bad and you can actually hear Sid play bass.
